display will not show anything, nor will it work with an external; display. what are my options, do I need to replace the entire motherboard?

yes it does power on without the battery and I also took out the hard drive to see if it would load and nothing. I was told by someone else that I would have to replace the motherboard because of the components being attached to the motherboard for cost effectiveness.

yes, in most cases the graphics card is soldered on the motherboard so if display fails the motherboard is done for.
