Ok...customer complains of screen "going out"...so I check it and it's doing a bunch of weird horizontal scrolling...but external display thru VGA seems fine.
No inverter since it's an LED and I'm sure the screen is bad so I order a replacement from ScreenTek...swap the screen out and now...even worse...barely a flicker after replacement...but it looks like a refurb...so I send it back for another and in the interim - get a replacement video cable as well. Swap out the cable...same issue...replacement screen from ScreenTek - almost good...but there's still shadowing on the icons and if i do anything like open MS Word...the display just freaks out... What the ****?
Could the GPU actually work to an external display but be completely hosed for internal? I haven't seen that before...
Thanks,
Eric
