Toshiba Satellite L775

Toshiba Satellite L775- I put in new battery, it charged to 100%, but computer won't go on. Took battery out and held down on switch for 60 seconds. Computer started up just fine. When I put the battery back in, the computer went off. What am I missing?

bad battery, did you bought the battery from toshiba?
