I have a Toshiba Satellite with Windows 8. I have turned off Toshiba's "Special Function Mode" so that my F- keys work normally, Fn+F- operates special laptop functions(volume, screen brightness, etc). The other day I accidentally hit F10 a bunch of times trying to change the volume, and suddenly my touchpad started acting erratically. Since then I've tried pressing every key on the keyboard and every Function key multiple times to no avail.

The touchpad "works", but behaves as follows:

- Normal cursor movement is disabled
- Touchpad will scroll in windows with scrolling enabled i.e. web browsers and note/wordpad/word
- Touchpad will scroll through desktop icons
- If left or right click is pressed and held, touchpad will move normally
- Pinch and swipe to zoom works normally
- Single tap on touchpad works as normally, placing the cursor, but no cursor movement is possible
- Double tap allows cursor movement in selection mode until touchpad is release, then cursor is "stuck" again
- Three taps allows normal cursor movement without selection mode, after which cursor is "stuck" again

I have tried resetting the Toshiba settings to defaults, and tooling with the Windows 8 settings, but nothing seems to work. Resetting does not work.

What the "F" is going on here!?!?!?!?
