My Toshiba satellite turns on but with just a black screen and flashing cursor. I tried pressing f8 but nothin hagppens help please !

Reseat the hard-drive. Go into the BIOS at boot up and check if the drive is detected. If it is, see if the BIOS has a drive test utility, run that.

When I see these issues, its from a drive issue. Either it died, or windows is trying to boot into a non-existing partition.
