Touchscreen stopped working on TP550LA-CJ100H

So I bought the laptop and it arrived last Friday. No problems until today when I found out that the touchscreen has just stopped working out of the blue. I've read somewhere that it might be a bug with ASUS laptops and the power settings turning the device off to save power but I'm not too sure if that's the case here.

If it helps I did change the power setting whilst plugged in to do nothing when the lid is closed.
I am also running Windows 10 64-bit.

Help would be much appreciated.

Have you tried doing a power off - restart? Hold down shift while you click shutdown to get a true power off otherwise it enters its hybrid-off state instead.
