[citation][nom]tooexpensiveprius[/nom]$32,000 for the base model? Then considering their top model costs $5,000 more, you'll be paying $37,000 before taxes and dealer slapped on "extras". Also, considering its 0-60 time of the 2012 plugin hybrid is 10.9 seconds, you'll be mashing your foot down every time you enter the highway -- which kills the mpg. Which leads me to conclude with this TopGear video http

And any care that does 0-60 much faster is going to get significantly less MPG than any Prius.
Top Gear are, IMHO, hacks. They only thing they care about is speed at any cost. They have no interest in efficiency. Not to mention, where on Earth is anyone, anyone going to need 0-60 like a Bugatti can do? Drive that way in a Bugatti and you'll get arrested unless you are on a track or some place where the speed is unlimited.
But some how, these guys at Top Gear think that "high speed at any cost" makes them men. Personally, I find these guys rather empty, and I am male.
With 274 ft-lb of torque in its electric motor available from a standstill, the Prius can beat many cars - even pimped out cars - off the line and in short distances. I know, I've done it in my 2nd Gen Prius. But pointing that out for the Top Gear guys would somehow damage their macho image. IMHO, they can all go hang out with Arnold. They all have as much, or should I say little, brains as Ahnold does.
[citation][nom]cbag[/nom]36-38 isn't better than a prius. neither is 45-47.We get 55-60.[/citation]
And that is CITY mileage!!!
