Trading a laptop for a desktop

Hello I recently was looking for a computer on eBay and found one close to me and I was interested so me and the seller have come to an agreement to trade each other. He needed a laptop for school so decided to agree to trading for the desktop. We sent pics to each other of said product to make sure it was what was said and what not...but after talking back and forth he requested I send mine first and then he would send his. I am not saying he is lying about sending his after I send mine but I do not want to get scammed. So my question is since there isn't a trading option on eBay how am I supposed to trade him for his desktop without getting scammed? Is there a more secure way? I cannot go to him cause I don't drive and neither does he so locally meeting for a trade will not work so shipping is the only option. Suggestions would help, thanks.

No trading is not secure, especially on eBay. If you don't drive, and need to transport a desktop, why don't you organise a taxi?
