transfer photos from s4 to my desktop with windows 7

I have a samsung S4 phone i need to return it for screen replacement.
I need to save the pictures on the phone to my HP desktop with windows 7
Is there a way to do so?.

I am not computer savy so it has to be kind of simple.

Plug your phone into your desktop via USB. You can even use the charging cable it came with. Your phone should show up as an external drive (similar to a USB flash drive). You can simply navigate through its folders as you would navigate through any folder on your computer, and then you can drag & drop the photos onto your desktop once you've found them. Photos are frequently stored in a folder named DCIM on your phone.
