Traveling with Macbook Air and Weak Wireless Connections

HI, I have a Macbook Air which I am travelling with. Sometimes I am living in Hotels where the Access Point is so far away that I cannot pickup the signal

Can I get a thing that plugs into the Mac that can improve the reception? USB or other interface.

I am running Yosemite now but it has been the same under other versions as well

You could try getting a USB wireless adapter, which might pick up the signal better, but it's not a guarantee.
