Trouble Using HP Link-5 USB

I cannot get a new HP wireless mouse X4000 and new HP Wireless Elite v2 keyboard to connect to an LG TV using an HP Link-5 USB. I tested both mouse and keyboard connecting to my pc and all worked fine. Any solutions?

The USB slot on an HDTV is really for a firmware upgrade from a flash drive. In some cases, it can display photos for a slide show.

However, it is not a fully functional USB port for attaching other peripherals to, including your mouse and keyboard.
