trouble with network

I haven't been able to use my note 3 in my house for a year. I recently purchased a extender verizon said I needed. My phone is a 4G. The extender is for 3G. A tech now tells me I need a booster . What's the difference in an extender and a booster?

What you need depends on what the issue is with using the device. Is it an issue with the service from Verizon? Does Verizon service work in your house/area? Is it an issue with WiFi? You'd have to work with Verizon though about your issues. An extender takes a signal, and re-generates it again using the original signal, a booster is pretty much a stronger antenna or an amplifier that strengthens the original signal.
