If you want to clean out the system, there should be a restore partition on it that will reset it to factory defaults. Backup your files and settings like Favorites, My Documents, pictures, etc... and restore it, will wipe the disk and system will be like new.

F9 should be the key to get into the recovery partition during boot.

Upgrade to W10. Maintenance is automated in 10. Day and night compared to previous OS versions.
