Trying to decide on laptop for college

I am trying to figure out which laptop to buy for college. I am going to college in my town, so I will have access to my reasonably powerful desktop. I was thinking about picking up something to be mobile with because I don't have a car, and it may be more convenient. I have been looking around for the past few days, and I am at an impasse. I don't know what I will be using this laptop for other than to take with me places. I understand that I am going to pay more for the ability to game on it if I want to. I am not looking for it to be as good as my desktop, but some performance would be nice. I will post my desktop as well. I have it narrowed down to two, but I am open to suggestions. I am looking to purchase in the next two days. I would honestly like to keep it to under 1200 with tax and shipping if possible. Thank you for any help you can provide.

Would it be worth it to get the 760m with the 1080p screen, or will I not notice a difference with the lenovo that has a 755m, but a 1600x900 screen? I linked the wrong lenovo laptop the first time.

Have you checked with your school to see if they have a program with any laptop provider? Sometimes you can get a discount that way.

They sell some items out of the bookstore, but nothing was that good of a deal. I decided to just put it on hold for a while. I might just pick up another monitor and a 290x Lightning or something. Thanks for replying since I had't gotten any in a whole day.
