Hi! I just bought a new LG 4K UHD TV - Model 49UH6500 and I’m trying to connect my Philips Home Theatre (Model HTS3580/98) so that the audio output plays through it. However, I can’t seem to make it work. Any thoughts? Thank you in advance!

Solution
The HDMI output of the HTS is for playback only. It doesn't support ARC (audio return channel) according to the manual. So
TV has optical digital audio out.
HTS has analog audio input.
You need to convert optical to analog with an active converter.

To use the optical audio output you may have to turn it on, the TV speaker off, and change the audio output type in the TV menu.
