Success so far transferring videos to the computer, and Sonic works
like a snap to put them onto DVD's, but I cannot see pics or music.
Tivo connects fine to the wireless network, and can D/L from the web.
I am using XP 2 and have Zone Alarm running, and have given all the
permissions to Tivo Server and Desktop. And Desktop has the photos to
broadcast. But Tivo does not see the server, either when it is set to
find the server manually (I used 192.168.1.47) or automatically.
Any ideas?
BTW, when I got a Tivo approved wireless adapter, it found the network
easily and the setup was simple. up to now.
Netgear WG111 on sale now for $30 at Staples and BestBuy

btw, I tried all the tricks I could find on the ZoneAlarm website,
including setting protection to the lowest on trusted software. Still
no connection for photos, but ok for video transfers. strange.

try disabling zone alarm, if you still cant connect, then you know ZA isn't
the problem. also try disabling the XP SP2 firewall if you haven't already.
you need to open your system wide up to start, if it works then you've
narrowed down the problem.

Rob's on the right track. If you can transfer videos, you know that
there's nothing wrong with your network connection. Therefore you know
that it's something with the photo and music sharing application
(doubtful since TTG works), or something is blocking it. If you're
using XP w/ SP2 it could be either Windows Firewall or Zonealarm.
Disable both and then enable one, then the other, you should be able to
narrow down the problem to one or both of them. Tell us what you find out.

It was ZoneAlarm. With it off, Tivo popped up with the photos and
music immediately. I had played with the ZA settings, but couldn't
find the trick. It is under Firewall, click the "Zones" tab on the
right side, then you will see the URL for Tivo listed (mine is
192.168.12.47) and double click it and change it from "Internet" to
"Trusted".
A long discussion of this problem on the ZoneLabs website if you
search "Tivo" with no solution; I posted the fix just now.
Very proud of myself! Tried Tivo support and Symantec support because
I thought maybe the virus software was in the way.

Although the Indian guy for Symantec suggested it must be the
firewall.
