Turn off homepage light while charging

I have a new galaxy A tablet, the latest one.
When I plug the charger in it stays on ALL night... nonstop. Does anyone know how to turn it off?

The only way it should stay on is if you unlocked the "Developer Options". In there is a setting called "Stay Awake". So you would have to go back into those options to uncheck "Stay Awake" to get it to stop.

However, you can always tap the "Power" button, just enough so that the screen will go dark.
