TV Audio Connection Question

I have a speaker system that uses a 3.5mm plug and my tv has no headphone jack. How can i connect my speakers to my tv? Can i use anything to connect them using the digital audio output?

im afraid not, for digital audio you need a digital audio device

If your speakers are self powered you can use one of these:

to convert the optical digital to analog audio. Your speakers must have their own volume control as the optical output is fixed.
