I purchased a Polaroid TV from ASDA and wanted better sound so I bought the Bush T3311

The TV has a 1) earphone jack and 2) coaxial output
The soundbar has a 1) toslink input and 2) rca input

Here is my configuration, I have a RCA cable from the Coaxial output from the TV that attaches to the a converter box which then has two RCA cables that goes into the input for the soundbar. The problem that I'm encountering is that I cannot control the volume by the TV remote, only via the soundbar.

Does anyone have any experience or suggestions on how to resolve this issue?

Thanks in advance.

With your setup, your audio is going directly from your cable box to the sound bar, which bypasses the TV set. Therefore, your TV remote has no control over the audio volume.

One option is to use a minijack to RCA cable to send the audio signal from the headphone jack on the TV to the sound bar. This will then allow your TV remote to control the volume.

The other option would be to get a remote that can control both the TV and the soundbar.
