13: What country do you live in?
United Kingdom.

DELL XPS M1730 Specification I was thinking of:
Intel core 2 duo T9300, 2.50GHz, 6MB cache, 800Mhz
Dual NVIDIA GeForce 8800M GTX 512Mb DDR3 Graphics
Ageia PhysX Processing Unit Card
Ultrasharp WUXGA+ TFT with Truelife
4GB DDR2 667Mhz
2x 200GB 7200rpm SATA HDD in Raid 0
Windows Vista Home Premium

ROCK Xtreme 780 Specifications I was thinking of:
Intel core 2 duo T9600, 2.80GHz, 6MB cache,1066Mhz
NVIDIA GeForce 9800M GT 512Mb DDR3 Graphics
Hi-res WUXGA+ X-Glass rock logo
4GB DDR3 1066Mhz
250GB 7200rpm SATA HDD
Windows Vista Home Premium

Without a doubt,go for the first one
Dual 8800MGTX are alot better than 1 9800MGT(9800MGT=8800MGTX)
The first one has a better screen and more HDD.

The second one has a faster CPU but the difference isnt noticeable.

Also T9300 has 800MHZ FSB not 1066.

I did read your review and it was amazing. I believe this is exactly what I need. I did notice one thing was that you bought it in Smoke Gray correct? And when you turned on the white LEDs on the lid. It turned blue?

Is the LEDs on the lid colour changable also?

Yep, that was my fault I have the M1730 Specifications inbeded into my head and I just copy and pasted the specs of the ROCK Xtreme 780

Yes its smoke grey.

The LED colors on the LED cant be changed, they are blue(acutally in the photo they are blue,in real they are something between purple and blue which is very nice),also the LED color on the keyboard cant be changed either.

The ones that can be changed are the SPEAKER and TOUCH PAD which are customized with 12 colors.

You can't change the color of the screen LEDs? That's funny - I can change the colors on my XPS M1710 on the screen, speaker, and vent (the touchpad is only red though).

My 1,300'th post... hurray!!!

There is also a new entry into the 17" notebook market coming out at the end of August that will have dual M88XT ATi GPU's in a crossfire... the good part? That the cost is very attractive compared to comparable SLi systems from nVidia.

Even if it doesn't light the world on fire, I'm sure it will bring down the nVidia prices. Right now they have all but a stranglehold on the notebook GPU market and (IMHO) demand a premium for their products.

If the system you are looking at has a desktop chip, like a Q9xxx in it, then the other good news is with the release of the Q9650 the prices of all lower chips are coming down this month too.

Oh well.. Maziar im truly glad that it took only 5 working days for your laptop to come. They made a screw up with mine already. When you check your order status via the Dell site it has 5 stages. First one is just authorising the payment etc. then the last 4 are "Pre-Production", "Production", "Pre-Delivery" and "Delivery".

UNfortunatly mine been stuck at Pro-Production for the past 6 Days.
