Hi All,

Just wondering if anyone might be able to provide me with some advice. I'm in need of a new laptop, as my current one is dying (having lasted 4 years, albeit with a new hard drive...).

I'd like to be able to do some gaming on it, (Mass Effect 3, Guild Wars 2, etc), but I'm not expecting it to be on the highest settings with my budget- essentially I'd like something that can keep up with new games (preferably on medium settings), and isn't going to be completely outdated in the next few years. Additionally, my university work requires me to work with rather large databases/spreadsheets, so I need a fair amount of memory (although I know it's fairly easy to upgrade this myself, so it is not my number one priority).

Ideally I'd like to be spending around £500, but I realise this is asking quite a lot for this budget- unfortunately I can't really afford to go over £600.

My present research has come up with the following options:

Additionally, after a rather long discussion with a very knowledgeable shop assistant, his suggestion was to run the following, and purchase/build an external graphics card if necessary due to the power of the cpu... However, I'm a little apprehensive about integrated graphics being able to run any games at all, and would rather not be investing in an external graphics card immediately.

Would anyone have any suggestions/opinions on my options? I have had gaming desktops in the past, but I need to have a laptop for uni, and can't really afford to buy both

Thanks

I love the Lenovo G510 and an external graphics card would be worth it if the Lenovo G510 does indeed come with a port that could be used for a graphics card.
