Unlock S40

Just bought an used Siemens S40 because I need the triband for an O/S trip.
I am on AT&T and did not realised that the phone is locked to Cingular.
Now, the phone will not work with my SIM card.
What options do I have, short of selling the phone to someone who can use it
(I cannot return it).

It depends where you go. In some countries you can take to the phone shop
where you buy the SIM card and they can unlock it for you at a nominal
charge.

I believe that some phone shops (especially independent shops) in USA will
unlock for a $20-30 fee.

Another option would be to search the web (or eBay) for an unlock cable and
software. But I don't recommend this option. It's a pain if you don't know
what you're doing and you may waste your money.

I can unlock your S40 in no time, but I'm in motreal, so If you have a
way to come to see me or one of your friend is coming to Mtl, email me
and I will help you out with that....
