As we all know, current VR headsets suffer from the "screen door" effect(blurry/grainy). No matter if it's the Rift, Vive, Explorer, etc... It seems even the upcoming Vive Pro is going to have similar issues.

This Pimax 8K looks promising. Does anyone know if it's the only 8K VR headset coming out this year?

Solution
The Pimax 8K is not true 8K. It has two 4K panels, which is half of what 8K (usually) means. In addition, each panel only gets a 1440p input signal.

The headset may have other downsides, but we won't know for sure until they release the final version. It was supposed to launch in January, but they're still working on prototypes.

AFAIK there are no other high-res VR headset launches confirmed for 2018.
