I'm repairing an old Toshiba Satellite X205-SLi2 for a project. I examined the CPU and confirmed that the Intel T8100 is used. I have since learned that from the X205-SLi1 through X205-SLi5(T9500) used the same motherboards. Only the CPUs were upgraded. Even the schematic confirms this information. Also, the video cards stayed the same.

So, just for kicks, I would like to see if upgrading my X205-SLi2 CPU could take the Intel T9500. FYI, eBay's prices are very affordable for these legacy CPUs. I have updated the bios to version 2.70, which is the last one listed by Dnyabook.com (Toshiba). Researching the CPU's stats and data show that it's a good upgrade. But I'm still not convinced.

Question: If I did it, would it work? Does anybody have any experience doing this?

Any advice or suggestions are deeply appreciated!
