Question USB camera & mic, Windows 11, HDMI connection

Hello All -

I have a 2025 Asus Vivobook with Windows 11, also a Logitech USB camera and microphone - combined - and the latest PowerPoint.
I can use the Logitech to provide a feed for the Cameo feature in PP but cannot find the way to use the mic audio when using the HDMI connection to the big screen in the room.

It's particularly frustrating because I managed it on an older W10 machine and a previous version of PP which, crucially, didn't have the Cameo facility.

Any advice gratefully received. Thanks,

Ian

Yes, it's the default device for both video and audio. I've installed Audacity because I know it quite well and it sees the mic, the "active" light comes on on the mic but no sound is heard from it. I've checked the logitech website for driver updates - not needed. It also occurs to me that, having achieved what I want on W10, I tried the same on the W11 machine so may have buggered something up. This is what I did in W10, "To set it, right click the volume icon > Sounds > Recording tab > double click the audio device that the mic is connected > Listen tab > Check the box "Listen to this device" and right below select the HDMI audio output as playback device > Ok to apply."

Thanks for your patient help.

Ian.
