I have a 2 and a half year old laptop back home. I've noticed that on very rare occasions, one of the USB ports won't work. Whatever I plug it, doesn't get detected. The problem gets fixed when I reboot the laptop. Is this normal? The port is USB 3.0, but the problem sometimes happens on 2.0 ports as well. Thank you.

Solution
Hi,

Start by uninstalling/reinstalling the USB driver from Device Manager.
- Go to Device Manager and uninstall the USB driver.
- Once uninstalled reboot your laptop and it should reinstall the driver automatically.
- Test weather if it will work or not after the re-installation.
- If it doesn't install, download and install the latest driver there is from the manufacturers site.
- Do adjust some settings as well from Power Option. Right click on the battery icon and select Power Options.
- Click Change plan settings then Change advanced power settings
- Expand USB settings then USB selective suspend setting and set it to Disable.
- Click Apply and OK then test it again.
