Hello,
HP tu 1001 usb not working. Somehow my TU1001 notebook has lost all the USB drivers such that I cannot attach anything at all. I have uninstalled the drivers and try to reinstall them. I point it at Program Files/Marvell which definitely contains the relevant driver files yet it still says "driver not found". If I reboot with a USB DVD attachedand F( to pcik up the USB device it sees it and I belive would let me re-build from scratch - but I am keen to try and just fix the drivers so I can save my filestore before I Rebuild. Any ideas?

You've fallen into Windows cunning trap. You can point it straight to a driver and it refuses to see it because it isn't looking for the driver - it's looking for the file that tells it where the driver is located.

In Windows Explorer (My Computer) Select Folder Options from the Tools menu, then View and scroll down to tick "Show hidden files and folders". A little further down, untick "Hide protected system folder" then click Apply, accept the warning and OK your way out. Go back to Control Panel and into Device Manager and double click the USB Controller with the yellow mark beside it and click on Update Driver. Tick to install from a specific place but this time, point it to c:\windows\inf. That's where the Information files live and shoul dgive you a better result.
