Usb to rca- my audio jack doesnt work

my audio jack doesnt work on my dell inspiron n5030 and wanted to know if i bought a usb to rca cable would it put audio out through my stereo. my computer detects it plugged in but wont put sound out

You would need a USB DAC not a cable to get audio from your PC.
