Use different outputs in windows 8 wmc?

Hi,

Is it possible to use my sound card for everything but WMC? Like I want to use my speakers(sound card) for music, gaming, everything else, BESIDES Windows Media Center. I would like to use my hdmi(TV) for wmc. is this possible, i tried going to playback devices and i can only set one option as default.

check to make sure both onboard and the sound card are enabled as audio outs in the control panels sound tab.
1s your sure there both enabled. set your sound card as the primary default.(should have a tick next to it)

open wmc and set the audio device to the motherboard not the default.
now wmc should use the motherboard while everything else should use the sound card.

my hdmi sound(tv) is thru my graphics card, does that make a difference?

if the nvidia hd audio is available in wmc's settings as the preferred audio over the default then it should work.
