Google Now is a cool new feature that is designed to help you plan your day. From giving you weather updates to helping you plan the best route to work, Google Now has a lot of potential to save you time and headaches in your everyday life. Here’s how to set it up on iOS.
Step 1
On your iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch, open the App Store. Search for and download the Google app. (The Google app you need is the one with the blue icon, not Google+, Google Maps, or any of the other Google-related apps that will come up in your search.) Like Google’s other applications, the Google app is free.
Step 2
Once you’ve downloaded the Google app, launch the app on your iOS device. You will be greeted with a screen asking you to “Get Started.” Proceed and enter the login information for your Google account.
Step 3
If you haven’t already signed up for Google Now yet, the app will ask you if you are interested in the feature. Tap “Yes, I’m In” to confirm your interest. The Google app will then ask your permission to access your location. Allow it to do so.
Step 4
Finally, to access Google Now, swipe up from the bottom of the screen. The Google Now screen includes weather forecasts for your current location, as well as information on nearby events, businesses, restaurants, bars, and other places.
Recap
Google Now is a relatively new feature, but it has the potential to deliver helpful content to one location on your phone, instead of requiring you to use different weather apps, places apps, etc. Use the above steps to get Google Now on your iOS device and take advantage of the feature now.
