Hey! I've found a used HP omen online for 800 aud, now i think its the 2014 model with the 860m (which is fine for the light gaming I'm after). My main problem is whether its worth buying a laptop thats 1.5 - 2 years old? i know its a good laptop and the guys said its in good condition. But just not sure if it will be obsolete in the near future.
Here are the specs-

4th Gen. Intel Quad Core i7-4710HQ Processor 2.5GHz, (Max Turbo up to 3.5GHz)
16GB Memory (On Board) Ram
512GB Flash SSD (Solid State Drive)
Dedicated Graphics: 4GB NVIDIA GeForce 860M Graphics

Any advice would be much appreciated, thankyou!

800 AUD is 580 USD? Hm, tough one. Its definitely an interesting offer but the thing is Pascal mobile gpus are here now and they already start at 799 USD for the new Dell Inspiron 15 Gaming (7567 model). With that, you get the newest Kaby Lake i5 HQ cpu and Nvidia GTX1050 graphics, which is on par with gtx960m from last year. So personally, I'd wait until Dell has a nice discount code (they very often do) so you shave of around 50-100 USD from the 799 and the difference becomes so small (~100) that it would be more attractive to go with a brand new notebook :)

Hmmm yea its a hard one, i had a look at the dell australia website and the gaming 7000 series starts at 1443.00 AUD, and the only thing it has better is gpu (960m). Im thinking the omen is a good deal but don't want to spend that much money on something that will break haha!
