Virus checking /removal

My laptop appears to be running slower lately and every now and again, all the icons on the taskbar disappear and re-appear randomly. Is this an indication that may have a virus?

My paid for AV returns a clean bill of health.

How can I conduct a complete and thorough check for, and remove viruses from my laptop ?

How does a professional remove virus? Cmd Prompt?

Does it involve much?

Would like to have documentation for this for future reference.

Never a bad idea to give Malwarebytes AntiMalware a run.....likewise, 30 day trial of HitmanPro....

Please run malware bytes antimalware on your computer first and then run hitman pro. so it will clean your computer and your computer will be totally secure.
