Hey guys, I am wondering if it is generally better to get rid a virus from the system on the internal drive (main boot system) or is it better to do it from a CD or USB drive? Are the conditions also different for getting rid of malware ect..

Thanks

Jim

Personally, what I would do is download a copy of Ubuntu onto a flash drive or DVD, run it (don't install it), and then explore your hard drive's directory for files you may want to keep. Then, copy those onto an external drive, reinstall your OS with a formatted hard drive, and then load your files back on via the external disk.

Good luck!
