I need help choosing between the M43-C1(2015) and the E43U-D2 (2016). Both are 4k and 450$ the M has a reduced price because it's discontinued. In fact if your shopping vizio for a 43inch 4k your choices with be E or D series after this M model sells out due to the new M series starting at 50inch. Is this new E43 a better unit? Can someone crunch these specs. Thanks

I recently purchased and m-series and I'm pleased with it, I was debating between m and p series, and went m for cheaper price. Picture is good, I'm sure there are better but the difference isn't much and it's hard to get a setup and then content that can max the TV out to know how good the pic really is , compare in person.

The current crop of 4K TVs from Samsung, LG, Panasonic, and Sony, etc. list HDCP 2.2 compliance in their specifications. This is a good sign. If you have a 4K TV already, or are looking at a non-tier 1 brand, make sure you scour the specs for HDCP 2.2. If it's not 2.2-compliant, you might be out of luck as this new encryption is rolled out.

As in, if you bought one of the first 4K TVs, generally released in 2013, it may not work with whatever dedicated 4K content comes out in the near future.

Thanks for the advice, the M series does in fact support HDCP 2.2. 2 ports @ 30Hz and 1 port @ 60Hz. The E series supports version 2.0 and 1.4. The M also has 28 vs E 10 zone FALD. One thing the new E has over it is the octa-core processor, I don't know if that's a factor. The M is a six core.
