Vizio 5.1 surround sound

When I do the speaker test on surround sound system satellite speakers work but when trying to watch tv no sound is coming out of the satellite speakers? Help plz!

By satellite speakers you mean the rear surround speakers?
Check that the TV is set to output in 5.1 bitstream. That should be in the TV audio menu.
You should balance the levels of all the speakers in your system. The manual will tell you how. This sets each channel to duplicate what you would hear in movie theater.
Make sure that the program you are watching is in surround sound (many aren't). If you want the surrounds to play more try different surround sound modes. Some will give you more rear sound but are not accurate to what the director intended. On most movies the rears are only used briefly. On TV shows they may not be used at all.

Okay I will try that. We have not moved the rear speakers behind us yet since we just got it and just moved to our new house so hopefully after we do that then we will notice the difference.
