Vizio Soundbar not giving off audio from tv

No volume is coming from my Vizio Soundbar. I tried the coaxial, red and white, and the optical cord but none work. I tried two different tvs, and sometimes weird static comes out for like a second. The bluetooth works perfectly fine though. So is the soundbar broken or is there something I can do. I read online about updating it with an USB.

Without the make and model of the TV we don't know what kind of audio outputs your TV has. People often mistake inputs for outputs because the connectors are the same.
You may need to turn the audio output on in your TV and the TV speakers off.
You may need to change the audio output type on your TV.
Both would be in the TV audio or set up menus.
