Vizio tv issues

My cat for the third time unplugged my Vizio tv set-up. I have always been able to just plug the cords back in without further issues but this time is different. The tv is set up through the dvd/vcr recorder and then to cable. The dvd/vcr recorder plays the media fine but there are issues with the tv picture. At first, I only had sound and no picture, then picture came back and then would disappear, now for quite awhile picture has stayed but is jumpy or blinks at times. I just lost the picture again and it is now coming in and out. Any ideas?

Swap whatever cable you use to connect that with another of the same cable that you know works.
I suspect the cable is damaged, and be good to rule that out first.
