Info Vizio TV stopped accepting inputs

So I've owned this TV for about a year now. It's nothing special, just a small 32" HDTV. I never use the "smart" functions of the TV as while the TV would connect to my WiFi network, the functions never seemed to work.

So for the last couple of days, whenever I turned on my this "Smart" TV, it would open to the Vizio home screen and not the "Latest Input Used" like it used to (typically, my Roku streaming stick). Today, when I got home from work, it wouldn't even recognize my Roku streaming stick. Even after a reset of the streaming stick, it still would not show up as a viable input; just a black screen that would eventually return to the Vizio home screen.

Thinking that my Roku had failed, I was ready to head out to purchase a new streaming stick, but decided to check to make sure that my local OTA channels still worked. NOPE! Instead of them instantly opening when changing inputs, I got the Vizio orange spinning connecting wheel until THAT timed out and was returned to the home screen. I checked online to see if there was a recent update by Vizio and didn't find anything. What I did find was a reddit discussion (about a year old) that described my situation. Seems a factory reset and removing any type of Internet connection (and NOT setting up Watchfree+) resolved all my issues. OTA channels needed to be rediscovered, but my Roku streaming stick works just fine.

I'm sick and tired of these companies thinking they know what we want and then shoving it down our throats; and screwing THAT up in the process.

Anyway, just a heads up.

After applying the changes, could you then reconnect to the 'net without any issues?

Not a good way to support users, no doubt. I wonder how many give up with such problems and go buy something new (that they didn't need)?
