About 5 or six days ago I asked Voom 2 questions through their "contact
us" on their website.
I got an auto responder saying they would answer me in 24 hours. That I
believe was last Sunday, but still no response.

Is this typical for them? How about their customer service?

Yeah, that can be annoying as hell.
I haven't had much problems, so I don't know if it's typical....

Have you tried:
http://www.satelliteguys.us/forumdisplay.php?f=24

You'll get much better response there, I gather.

In my opinion Voom will be out of business in less than a year. Go with Dish
or Direct if you want Sattelite.

I suppose that's possible, but installation is still free [until July 5th].

Well that may be so, I'm not looking for satellite I'm looking for more
HD. Thanks.

PS. I think you're wrong about Voom. They will get purchased before they
go under.

Customer service, is not so good, nice people but they give you the
run around big time, it took 3 appaointments to get an installer to my
house, if you call the toll free # and its busy it automatically hangs
up on you with a message promising to call you back in 24hours, they
called back 5 days later, online questions took 6 days.

I just got VOOM and its great. Installation came and went, no hitches.
A slight problem after a rain. Call by phone for anything.
Wait the 10 minutes, talk to real person and get the problem solved.

With 23" lcd 1920x1200 monitor VOOM-HD is truly awesome.
Traveling the great wall of China, attending a concert.....
You are THERE!

I haven't even subscribed beyond basic Voom yet.

No risk - no install fee - no time commitments
Rent the rcvr for $10/month - It will be bosolete and superceded
way before the breakeven 40 months.

Go for it!
