Walmart laptop warranty policy

Hello,
i purchased a gateway laptop on july 1st. i was told that there is a year warrenty that automatically comes with the purchase. is this correct?

Read the warranty papers that came with it. Walmart doesn't make the laptop, they just sell them, so the warranty would be a manufacturers warranty.
