I recently found a couple of my dads old bookshelf speakers in my basement and I would like to set them up in my room as a little mini sound system. I know how to set up the amp and such but I don't know what wattage they are. I do know that the whole system including the sub (which I can't find) was rated at "Nominal 80W Max (music) 160W" not sure exactly what that means but I assume it means that 80w is minimum, 160w maximum. I also found on another site that its rated at 100w power handling capacity. I don't know what exactly to make of all this and would appreciate some assistance. The page I got the first stat from is

Solution
The relevant info is that the speakers are 4 ohms so the amp driving them must be able to handle this load. The power handling stated as 100 watts is very open to interpretation and there is no efficiency given but given their small size I would guess that anywhere from 20-50 watts should be OK.
