I don't know about the crown, but I think a dial might be useful. Back in the days of windows mobile 5 and 6, some of those phones had a dial selector. A dial for scrolling would keep your (not transparent) fingers and thumbs off the screen and out of the way. Who knows, the crown type spinner might be easier to use than a traditional spring-loaded dial .

It would be a fun feature to include a padlock app on the phone and rotate the crown for nostalgia. idk. just an idea
