I was having some issues with my laptop and it got to the point where I decided to factory reset my windows 10 laptop. The problem is that my laptop's build in monitor has been broken for a long time so I’ve been running my laptop off an external monitor through the hdmi port.

When I reset windows 10 the drivers for the monitor got uninstalled (I assume) so now I have a computer with no monitor and that does not have windows installed in it yet.

Hi,

I would suggest unplugging the ribbon cable that connects the built in display to the motherboard then connect your external monitor and it should make it as the default display so you would see everything on it. If it will work with the external display you can continue installing the graphics driver for your laptop.
