What are the cons of those laptops below $600 ?

Hello, I went to BB and saw quite a few laptops below $600. Why so cheap? What are the cons buying those laptops compared with those over $1000.

Apart from the obviously lower end specs.
Cheaper build quality
Lower quality parts
Pretty crappy screens, keyboards, trackpads, speakers,...

It all depends on the specs of the specific model. They'll have different strengths and weaknesses. Same as expensive models. What you'd get in an expensive ultrabook is different than an expensive desktop replacement gaming laptop. Same as a cheap light laptop versus a cheap large laptop.

In general
- Screen Quality: Lower Contrast, Gamut, Color Accuracy, Resolution and view angles.
- Storage: Slower storage or less storage. Really depends if it is an SSD or HDD. When using an SSD it is usually a small and cheap model. High end units may be using NVMe SSD.
- Casing: Cheaper materials and thicker
- Keyboard: Varies a lot but probably not as good quality same with the trackpad.
- Ports: High end models may have USB 3.1 Gen 2 and Thunderbolt 3. Perhaps more monitor ports.
- WiFi: Probably has the slowest 802.11AC standard and no Bluetooth.
- RAM: Likely has less RAM
- Battery: Battery life isn't usually as good.
- CPU: Slower CPU or older generation

You can get some decent ones for under $600. Especially if you are willing to go with a refurbished unit. Amazon and Newegg are much better places to shop for laptops. Plus they aren't pushy about getting you to spend money on unnecessary warranties or services for new computers. If you want to go into a store. Go to Microcenter. They actually carry a good supply of accessories and upgrades, a huge range of computers and their sales staff aren't so pushy.
