I have recently come into possession of an old Compaq armada 1750, and I wanted to know what I could do with it.
it says there is some kind of OS problem, or there is no OS, so I haven't been able to completely start it up yet, but with from the look of it I can swap out quite a few parts.

I am a complete novice when it comes to computer hardware, but it looked like I could do a lot with this computer.

please contact me at botsplayer@hotmail.com if you can help.

It's an 11 year old PII 333mhz machine. It won't work very well even with XP. Unless it has a CD drive and you want to explore Linux I wouldn't waste your time on it.

I upgraded mine about 5 years ago to a PIII running at 500mhz, added 256mb (+64mb onboard) stuck in a 100gb ide harddrive and installed Windows 2000 Pro - Google it and there's a guide how to do it - I still use mine for torrent downloads and connected to a TV, can play most files with VLC media player - However the cost and time involved it's just not worth it today.
