what does black screen on acer mean?

I started up my acer laptop and the display screen doesn't show, all it shows is a black screen, I have tried many times to turn off the pc and turn it on again, nothing...now I am refreshing my pc hoping it Will put the display screen back up. I have a screwdriver but it is not the roght size for me to unscrew the back and take out the battery.. I really don't like how the updates mess with the computer, it has done it on Dell as well.

I'm sorry but you are going to need to take out the battery in the end. Here is the solution to fixing that problem:

- Unplug the power
- Remove the battery
- Hold the power button for 30 to 60 seconds
- Then reattach the power and attempt a boot

Once that is completed, you will need to put the battery back in. Best of luck.
