Solved! What does no bootable device mean on laptop

I cant get my comp to work and im a student....im losing it!

it means exactly what it sounds like. there's nothing to boot.
assuming your laptop worked fine until this happened it likely means the harddrive has failed or been corrupted.

hi ,its mean your laptop not seeing your hard disk
first thing in bios setup check if there boot source thing if ur hdd is mentioned
if not the only way to get ur data back is removing ur hdd from the laptop and connect it to another laptop or pc as an external memory using cable or thing called a "case" when u connect it it will be like using a flash memory so you get ur data back
second when u do this and its work there is a file on drive c:\ named boot. somthing copy it and put it in ur inflected hdd and it will back to work

and why everibody automatically asumed there should be somethin wrong with the HDD? any particular reason? what's about a dead motherboard?
first of all you should try to describe what exactly happens, when you hit the power button.
