What happened to my movies transferred to usb drive

Hello,
i had some movie downloads on my D drive which i moved to a seagate usb drive so as to free space and watch the movies from the dvd player via the usb. But now the dvd wont read the files, and, when the usb drive is connected to the laptop, some of the file folders now are empty. What happened to my downloads? Help

Had you successfully played movies from the USB hard disk through the DVD player before?

DVD player won't read the files - maybe because they're not there? (empty folder?)
Will the DVD player read the movie where a folder is NOT empty?

Are any of your movies Digital Rights Management (DRM) protected? That could explain why they might not play via USB HDD or why they would not copy from the laptop.

Did you use the 'Safely Remove Hardware' option when you detached the USB drive from the laptop?

Do you still have the movies on your D: drive?

i have a similar problem

I download film

put film on usb

film when wont play when dropped and dragged back onto new install


however my family videos did, they were only about 10 minutes long each
