I suggest getting a powerline connector from TP-Link or similar brands. They usually work well.
Currently I plugged in an tp link range extender in my bedroom and get internet through Ethernet from extender. I noticed that my 2.4g WiFi network is slower than before but my computer gives me good speed. So does powerline slows your WiFi too or not? I think range extender slows my wifi down by 50%
A powerline connection has nothing to do with WiFi.
1. Ethernet. Much preferred. Most reliable, and fastest.
A Cat5e cable from your router direct to your PC.
2. Powerline devices.
Router----short Cat5e--Powerline device------house wiring-----2nd powerline device---Cat5e to the PC
3. MOCA. Similar to powerline, but uses the house coax wiring instead of the house electrical
4. WiFi. At some point between your router and your PC, the signal is pushed out over a radio signal.
Generally slowest and less reliable
