14. Please tell us any additional information if needed.
I'm a math, Statistics student and will be traveling alot so i just want a portable reliable laptop that won't give me much trouble. At the moment I have a laptop with 4gb ram with Ubuntu and Windows 8 and it definitely can't do everything I want it won't even work properly if i open a virtual machine with 1gb ram dedicated to it.

I'd prefer to not get a mac and The laptops i've looked at so far have been the lenovo t450s and the HP spectre x360. I really like the look of the HP spectre and am tempted to buy the i7 version with a 256gb SSD ($1150). But i'm no too sure

The lenovo t450s I looked at with 500gb hard drive 16gb ssd i5 (don't know which one i should get there's two versions) 8gb ram windows 8.1.$970 or $1070 depending on which i5.

Any other suggestions or advice on what I should buy. the main requirements i need is long battery like 8gb+ram and besides that I'm not too fussy

I would say that the t450s is a good laptop for you needs. It has sufficient power reserves for your tasks, is reliable and robust. Finally it has a very good keyboard which will be very useful if you are doing a math course which involves inputting a lot of numbers.
